The Wonder of the Nativity

rochesternativities.org
I was asked to be in charge of decorating this room for our church Christmas event. Although making a gym look pretty is never an easy task, we worked hard all week, repeated most of our good ideas from years past and everything turned out really well! We had a lot of visitors and it set the mood for the Christmas season with beautiful music, a live nativity, yummy treats and almost 250 nativities displayed.
Merry Christmas!

A Pretty New Coat

I found this pretty flannel, lined it with a coordinating polka-dot and here is my girl in her new coat! I had a saturday night date with my sewing machine, I have been dreaming of using this pattern for a few weeks.

Craft Show 2010

The craft show was awesome! I loved the positive response, I sold almost everything. I think after 5 years I am starting to get the hang of things. I made some major improvements to the display, using new green table cloths and all the black and white runners I made for a wedding last spring.
My friend, Jolene, was advertising her photography and we worked on some headbands and necklaces together. That made the day extra fun! She is wonderful to work (and play) with.
Also my sweet mom is in town and she always makes everything better. She was an A+ salesman. Thanks momma.
All the clothing items were new for me this year, and I was grateful that people liked them. I only had one dress left and it is my daughter's size. Perfect.
I am taking custom orders, so let me know if you need a crazy little ruffly outfit for your little one!

Mayo Craft Fair

I have been a little busy bee getting things ready for the Mayo Craft Fair this Saturday! This is a portion of the pile I have started to make in the middle of the floor of things I need to throw in the car on Friday afternoon... I hope I don't forget anything.
This year I am selling key chains, a few different types of headbands, baby blankets, bibs, onesies, bib necklaces and girl's outfits. I have found a lot of new gorgeous fabrics and it has been so much fun to work on all these projects. Some new and exciting items and some old stand-bys. For now I just have a billion details to finish. It has all been surprisingly low stress and quite enjoyable. I might have something different to say on Saturday night!

Busy and Loving It

I have had a productive couple of days... I love it when that happens.
When I first get the hang of a new pattern, I just can't stop with one...

Fall Dresses and a Photo Shoot

These photos were taken by my friend, http://jolenereed.blogspot.com/.
I made out daughters some coordinating outfits! I have been really into making dresses lately... fun stuff.

Beautiful Bird Dress

First Day of School Party

Super easy and fun! Every year on the first day of school, we have a root beer float party. We just set up a folding table, throw out a few quilts and pass out root beer floats in plastic cups with spoons and straws to our school friends on the front lawn. It is a very easy, cheap and fun tradition. This was our 7th year.

New Ruffle Duvet

I have been wanting a cover for our comforter for a while now, but the ones I love are always out of my (non-existent) budget. I snatched up a plain white duvet cover on sale for $19! I cut up some jersey knit sheets, ruffled them and then sewed them on the duvet cover 4.5 inches apart. Voila, a new duvet cover! Our bed is a queen, but I hate how queen size blankets never cover our mattress. So I bought a king size and cut it down just a bit so that it is the perfect size to cover the ugliness. It is so soft, comfy, wonderful and the perfect size.
